Inside each fiber, the nucleus can be seen and around it the entire cytoplasm is occupied by myofibrils, stained blue, also in cross section. Likewise, part of the connective tissue that surrounds the fibers appears, containing some fibrocytes and blood capillaries with red blood cells inside.
