Aspect of the contact zone between cortex and medulla of the root observed with the objective of 100x. It is observed the endodermis (yellow), a bordering monocellular layer between these two regions. In the radial walls of its cells, we can see a small thickening (approximately at the same level in all of them) called Band of Caspary. Towards the interior is located other layer, the pericycle, directly in contact with the vascular elements (in this image, the vascular elements of the phloem)
