Aspect of the renal cortex observed with the objective of 40x. We can see two renal corpuscles and some tubules around them. Each corpuscle is formed by the renal glomerulus, constituted by a number of blood capillaries that penetrate in it through the vascular pole. Around the corpuscle is located the Bowman´s capsule, leaving an apparent periglomerular space. We can also notice the longitudinal and cross sections of the proximal and distal convoluted tubules of the nephrons.
